Important Terms For Our Popular Services

Housekeeping & Cleaning Services

Do's:

  • Clearly state number of rooms, type of cleaning (deep/light), and expected duration.
  • Provide necessary cleaning tools and safe access to water/electricity.
  • Respect worker’s privacy and allow regular breaks for long jobs.

Don'ts:

  • No handling of hazardous waste, heavy lifting, or outdoor construction cleaning unless agreed.
  • Do not expect unpaid overtime. Any extensions must be paid through SEEN.
  • No camera or recording devices in private spaces (bathrooms, bedrooms).

Childcare & Nanny Services

Do's:

  • Disclose number of children, ages and any special needs up front.
  • Provide safe indoor/outdoor spaces and emergency contact instructions.
  • Follow child:caregiver ratios. 1:1 or 1:2 is ideal depending on age.

Don'ts:

  • No overnight stays unless pre-approved with added pay and safety checks.
  • No expecting the nanny to clean or cook unless agreed as part of job.
  • Do not leave children unsupervised with the nanny for longer than agreed.

Elderly Care Assistants

Do's:

  • Provide full disclosure of the person’s health condition and mobility level.
  • Ensure a safe, accessible home or care environment.
  • Provide meal breaks, rest, and basic care equipment if needed.

Don'ts:

  • No medical or nursing tasks unless the caregiver is certified.
  • No 24-hour shifts or sleep-in work without prior agreement.
  • No emotional or verbal abuse tolerated from clients or family members.

Hair & Beauty Specialists

Do's:

  • Clearly describe the desired service (braids, weave, facial, etc.).
  • Provide adequate lighting, clean working space, and running water if at home.
  • Let the specialist know in advance if multiple people are being serviced.

Don'ts:

  • No demanding rushed work or changes without extra payment.
  • No touching or filming the specialist without consent.
  • No requests for unpaid "trial" services.

Event Helpers & Hosts

Do's:

  • Specify the type of event, duties (e.g., serving, ushering, setup) and hours.
  • Provide food/water for any job over 5 hours.
  • Give clear dress code instructions ahead of time.

Don'ts:

  • No last-minute time changes without SEEN approval.
  • No use of staff for security or unrelated physical labor.
  • No workers should be left alone in high-stress or dangerous environments.

Garden & Maintenance Workers

Do's:

  • Clearly state tasks (weeding, planting, painting, etc.) and tools available.
  • Jobs requiring tools like hedge cutters must come with safety equipment.
  • Workers must be allowed shade, water, and rest periods.

Don'ts:

  • No working in extreme weather or without basic safety protections.
  • No operating heavy machinery unless arranged with certified workers.
  • No toxic chemical use without protective gear and worker consent.

Cooks & Catering Assistants

Do's:

  • Clarify dietary needs, serving size, and kitchen access.
  • Book enough time for prep, cook, and cleanup.
  • Provide utensils, pots/pans, and safe cooking space.


Don'ts:

  • No requests for underpaid bulk cooking or unsafe working conditions.
  • No "testing" meals without proper booking.
  • No asking staff to serve alcohol unless part of the agreement.

Admin & Digital Support

Do's:

  • Describe the task scope clearly (data capture, online posting, etc.).
  • Share files or logins securely through email or approved apps.
  • Pay fairly per project or per hour, not “per result” unless pre-agreed.

Don'ts:

  • No expectation of 24/7 availability.
  • No misuse of personal contact info.
  • No assigning unpaid test tasks or "training projects."

Pet Care & Dog Walking

Do's:

  • Clearly list number of animals, breed, temperament, and medical needs.
  • Provide necessary leashes, feeding info, and emergency contacts.
  • Limit to reasonable time periods and walking distances.

Don'ts:

  • No aggressive or untrained animals without warning.
  • No leaving pets solely under worker’s care overnight unless pre-booked.
  • No outdoor work during extreme heat or weather without safety measures.

Movers & Packing Assistants

Do's:

  • List what needs to be moved (boxes, furniture), and whether stairs/lift are involved.
  • Offer trolleys or lifting gear if needed.
  • Breaks required every 2–3 hours, especially for heavy work.

Don'ts:

  • No heavy lifting beyond 25kg per person unless arranged with multiple staff.
  • No last-minute scope increases (e.g., “just one more room”).
  • No unsafe loading practices or private transport use without approval.

Market Sellers & Brand Promoters

Do's:

  • Provide exact hours, type of product, and training material beforehand.
  • Ensure workers are not left alone with stock or cash without clear agreements.
  • Provide food, water, and shade if outdoors for long periods.

Don'ts:

  • No expectations of "commission-only" pay unless formally agreed and legal.
  • No transport of stock by worker unless transport stipend provided.
  • No illegal or unregistered product promotion.

Front Desk & Receptionists (Short-Term)

Do's:

  • Clearly define shift hours, check-in/check-out tasks, phone duties.
  • Provide a safe and professional environment.
  • Include necessary training or handover before starting shift.

Don'ts:

  • No long shifts (over 8 hours) without a break plan.
  • No requests for personal errands or cleaning unless agreed.
  • No access to sensitive info (cash, passwords) without a formal agreement.



Laundry & Ironing Services

Do's:

  • Clearly state the quantity of laundry (by load, basket, or item).
  • Provide working machines, detergent, water, and access to a safe, clean space.
  • Let the provider know if ironing is expected, and how many items require it.
  • Communicate fabric care requirements and any delicate items in advance.

Don'ts:

  • No requests to hand-wash heavy items (e.g., blankets, carpets) unless agreed.
  • No asking the provider to fold, pack, or organise entire wardrobes unless pre-booked.
  • No late changes (e.g., adding additional loads) without renegotiating time and pay.
  • No demanding “while-you-wait” services for large loads without prior approval.

Security & Door Staff (Light Security)

Do's:

  • Use only for crowd control, guest list checking, or gate access — not armed roles.
  • Clearly define hours, uniform and expectations.
  • Must be paired with venue security or staff, not left alone for major risks.

Don'ts:

  • No dangerous assignments (armed security, conflict handling) unless licensed.
  • No working past midnight without transport arrangements.
  • No assigning cash-handling unless agreed.

Waitstaff & Kitchen Assistants (Events/Restaurants)

Do's:

  • Define clear working hours, attire, and service expectations.
  • Allow breaks for shifts longer than 5 hours.
  • Workers must be fed or given food allowances if working during meal service.

Don'ts:

  • No alcohol service unless worker is trained or licensed.
  • No unpaid trial shifts.
